Chancellor Antonieta Fortuna-Ibe is a 60th Diamond Jubilee Outstanding UE Alumni awardee, graduating from UE as a consistent scholar and cum laude in 1966 with a BSBA degree major in Accounting.
For over 30 years, she was involved with the SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV & Co.), starting as a Junior Auditor and in the end, becoming a Partner in business. Then, at the KMPG Philippines as Professional Practice Department Head and as Risk Management Partner. From 1996-2001, in recognition of her expertise and work ethics, Chancellor Ibe became a member and eventually, Chairman of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the first woman occupying the position where she helped nurture a corps of world class Filipino CPAs enabling them to compete in the global market, by upgrading educational standards and professional Accountancy practice by adopting international standards, best practices and a code of ethics.
Chancellor Ibe finally returned to her alma mater, after a long and highly successful professional journey, on October 16, 2007, stepping into another world - that of the academe to share her adeptness and take the University to greater heights.
